Mass of Christian Burial for Richard M. Urban, Sr. will be Tuesday at 10:00am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church 523 Plum St. Fairport Harbor Rev. Peter Mihalic will officiate. Family and Friends may call from 4-7 pm on Monday at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.

The son of Jules and Mary (Fetchko) Urban was born on April 15, 1933 in Painesville. He was raised by his aunt and uncle Mary and Peter Fetchko after the death of his parents, and passed away December 25, 2015 at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland. He was a graduate of Fairport Harding High School and was a member of the undefeated State Championship football team in 1949. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force while attending Case Western Reserve University and served in the Korean War and served as a sergeant with the Strategic Air Command . He retired from the former Diamond Alkali/Ricerca Biosciences division in 1996 He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed boating , gardening, football but his family was the most important thing in his life.

Member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church Thompson, V.F.W. Post 7754 in Fairport Harbor the Hungarian Culture Club, American Slovenian Club, and the Lake County Rod and Gun Club.

Wife Patti (Armstrong) Urban whom he married on September 20, 1958 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church
