July 8, 1937 – February 16, 2021
Stephen M. Janos, age 83, passed away February 16, 2021 at Brookdale of Mentor. He was born July 8, 1937 in Grindstone, Pennsylvania to Paul Sr. and Anna Janos.
Stephen served in the United States Army in Germany. He was employed by and retired from Lakeland Community College.
Stephen was very kind, compassionate and generous. He loved his Catholic faith and the Blessed Mother. He liked to garden and enjoyed giving away the produce. Stephen was proud of his Slovak heritage and loved playing the button box and polkas. His family was most important to him and he loved them very much and enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Stephen is survived by his brothers, John (Vera) Janos and George (Joan) Janos; sister, Theresa (Bill) James; sisters-in-law, Jan Janos and Margaret Janos and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ann, Mary, and Irene; brothers, Paul, Edward, and Frank.
Mass of Christian Burial for Stephen will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 20, 2021 at St. Cyprian Catholic Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road, Perry, Ohio. Friends will be received 4:30-6:30 PM. Friday, February 19th, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. The family will be praying the Rosary at 4:15 PM. Please join us.
The family would like to thank and are praying for all nursing and medical staff, hospitals, hospice and assisted living caregivers.
