Funeral Service for Stephen L. Scherlacher, age 40, will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave. Painesville. Family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 PM at the Mentor Fine Arts Center, 6477 Center St, Mentor, OH 44060. Interment will be private, Steve was born on February 17, 1978 to Louis J. Jr. (deceased) and Patricia A. (nee Dieterich) Scherlacher. Stephen was a coach and mentor to 1000's of high school volleyball players across Northeast Ohio. He was also the main visionary of Eastside Volleyball Club & Eastside Cleveland Juniors J.O. Club; along with many others. He loved fishing, laughter, and was the sarcastic "King"; but his true love was family. Loving brother of Christian (Kristin) Scherlacher, and Leah (Jason) Davis, cherished uncle of Caleb, Grace, Kate, Quinn, and Brooke; nephew and cousin of many.
