Steven Lawrence Spaller, age 71, passed away June 2, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer in Cleveland, Ohio. He was born February 1, 1955¸in Painesville, Ohio to Donald Spaller and Ruth (McIntosh) Spaller.
Most recently he was a resident of Ashtabula County, Ohio for 18 years. He spent many years throughout his life living in Cuyahoga, Geauga, and Lake Counties, and graduated from Riverside High School and Auburn Career Center. Steve worked for Auburn Career Center for 30 years, as a Maintenance Supervisor and then ending his career there as a Technical Coordinator.
He spent time with friends and family enjoying his interests, which included various outdoor recreation activities, motorsports, and traveling. He spent the last several years as a Mosquito State Park camp host, and his memberships included Friends of Mosquito Lake, Euclid Rifle and Hunting Club, and was a long-time advocate of the National Rifle Association.
Steve is survived by his wife of 50 years, Suzette Spaller; daughter, Heather (Joshua) Fletcher; grandchild, Jared Mozzochi; mother, Ruth Spaller; and sister, Carol (Mark) Todd.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Spaller; and brothers, Wynn Spaller and Charles Spaller.
Friends will be received from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Spear- Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 4:00 PM.
