Obituary

Thomas Dotts, 92 passed away peacefully at his home in Mentor, Ohio on March 30, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Cass, West Virginia October 1, 1933, one of ten children of Ferdinand and Beulah Dotts. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings. He is survived by his sister, Francis Grimes of Irvona, Pennsylvania.

Tom was the devoted and much-loved husband for 65 years of M. Patricia (nee Rosenhamer) and a proud and loving father to Thomas Dotts, Jr. (Nicole); Stephen Dotts (Amy); and Lynn Mauter (John).

He was a cherished grandfather to Emily (Brian) Thuma; Kathleen (Michael) Dwyer; Margaret Dotts (Stephen Jurewicz); Hannah Mauter (Dillan Pavlisin); and Jack Dotts. He was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Theodore Dwyer.

Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army. He spent the majority of his career working at Reliance Electric.

An avid fisherman, Tom found great joy in being on the water and fished whenever he could—through summer, winter, fall and spring. He also loved camping and creating lasting memories as he explored the country and the trout streams as his children grew up.

Above all, Tom valued his family. He was a constant presence in the lives of his children and grandchildren—attending their events, celebrating their milestones, and offering guidance on everything from car maintenance to appreciating life's simple pleasures.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his love, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to his family.
