Vernon Howard Miles, 79 passed away February 25, 2022, at his residence in Mentor Ohio surrounded by his loving family.  He was born June 14,1942 in Painesville, Ohio to Carl and Bernice (Blair) Miles.

He graduated from Harvey High School in Painesville Ohio Class of 1960.  He attended Bowling Green University.  Vern retired from Mentor Schools as head Custodian in 2016.  He was a lifetime member of the Painesville United Methodist Church.

Vern enjoyed woodworking, camping, and spending time with his family.  His children and his grandchildren were his pride and joy!

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ginny (Bailey) Miles; children, Duane Miles, of Mentor, Darlene (Rich) Boggs of Concord, Veronica (Scott) Klebe of Grand River.  Grandchildren, Rick, Nick, and Spencer Boggs, Johnathon and Tori Klebe, Christopher Miles.  Brother, C. Burt (Louise) Miles, and many nieces and nephews.

Vern was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Beverly Safick, Mary Jane Pietila and Frank Miles.

The family will receive friends 3:00PM until 7:00 PM Monday, February 28, at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Avenue Painesville.

A funeral service will be held 7:00PM Monday following the visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made in Vern's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
