March 12, 1937 – December 24, 2023
Wanda Jane Sudbrook, "Mammaw", 86 of Concord Twp., OH, passed away Sunday, December 24. She will be joining her husband Donald E. Sudbrook who passed away in 2019.
Wanda was born on March 12, 1937, in Minford, Ohio to Carl and Magdalena Bayes. Wanda grew up in Minford where she met her husband, Donald. They were married in 1951 in Greenup, Kentucky. Shortly after the birth of first daughter Barbara, Don and Wanda moved to Painesville where they later had son, Larry, daughter, Patricia and son, Jeffrey.
Wanda worked at Rayon Corporation in Painesville before becoming a full time cook at Hale Road Elementary School in Painesville Twp. Wanda enjoyed cooking and baking, especially for her family and passed along dozens of family favorite recipes. Wanda and husband Donald were fortunate enough to retire in their 50's and enjoyed travelling together to see their children and grandchildren throughout the years. In the winter months they would enjoy the warmth of Arizona or Florida to spend time with family and of course to watch some baseball. Wanda, known as "Mammaw" to all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, was the most loving, caring and sweetest wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother anyone could ever hope for.
She is survived by two daughters, Barb (Bill) Simko of Orlando, Florida, Patricia (Jim) Kenesky of Perry; two sons, Larry (Bev) Sudbrook of Bradford, Pennsylvania, Jeff (Cheryl) Sudbrook of Avon; eight grandchildren, Tiffany (Jason) Wiberg, Joshua (Amanda) Kenesky, Shane (Kailei) Sudbrook, Dustan Simko, Cory (Amber) Sudbrook, Travis Kenesky, Troy Sudbrook, Ryan Sudbrook; and nine great grandchildren, Landon, Cooper, Riley, Ethan, Carly, Brody, Vanessa, Wyatt and Stone. She also leaves behind sister, Patricia Skaggs and brother, Ray Bayes.
She was preceded in death by husband, Donald; her parents; brothers, Bob Bayes and Mike Bayes; and sisters, Rachel Smith and Jean Smith.
A private family service will be held at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home with burial at Perry Cemetery.
