William (Bill) S. Hammack, age 82, of Painesville, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 18, 2015. Bill was born April 21, 1933, in Canton, to John and Ruth (nee: Dyer) Hammack. Bill was a graduate of North Central Bible Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1954, where he earned an Associate's degree in Theology. After pastoring various churches in southern Ohio, Bill moved to Lake County where he has been a Painesville resident for the past 30 years. Bill was a manager of J.C. Penney at the Great Lakes Mall before entering the insurance business. He retired from Prudential Insurance. He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Painesville. Bill loved trains, camping, traveling, and spending time with his wife, Mary of 38 years, and their many pets. He will be greatly missed by his wife Mary (Colantonio) Hammack; sons, David (Deborah) Hammack of Chardon Ohio; Daniel Hammack of Willoughby Ohio; Dennis (Judy) Hammack of Florida; Douglas (Kathy) Hammack of New York; grandchildren Lisa (Steve) McKimmy, Holly (James) Garrison, Kari Jackson, Jaime Hammack, Kelly (Graham) Dunbar, Andrew Hammack, Becca Hammack,; 10 great-grandchildren and his brothers, John (Frances) Hammack of Minnesota; and Leon (Amy) Hammack of Omaha Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his father, John and mother Ruth. Family will receive visitors on Friday, Sept. 25, 2015 at 5pm at The First Church of Christ located at 422 Mentor Avenue in Painesville, with a memorial service beginning at 6pm. The Reverand Dave Tysinger will officiate. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made in care of the family.
