Agnes Reho Obituary

Agnes Aurora (Kallio) Reho, age 92, passed away on Monday January 5, 2026, at Tri Point. She was born on January 19, 1933, in Kalvia Finland. In 1948, she courageously came across the pond to begin a new life in Fairport Harbor, a place she would proudly call home for the rest of her life.

Agnes was strong in both body and spirit. In her younger years in Finland, she was a national cross-country skier, a reflection of the determination and resilience that stayed with her throughout her life. She carried those same qualities into everything she did—as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Agnes had a deep love for her Finnish roots and enjoyed talking “Finn,” making traditional nisu, cooking for those she loved, dancing, crocheting, and spending time outdoors. She especially loved fishing off the pier and cleaning the fish herself, a simple pleasure that reflected her independence and connection to nature. She also found great joy in watching her cardinals and squirrels and took pride in caring for her home and family. One of her greatest pleasures was cooking for her children and grandchildren, especially her famous pancakes and french fries, which became cherished family traditions.

A hardworking woman, Agnes worked at SAS Rubber Company. She later cleaned houses and also worked as a custodian at Riverside, McKinley, and Fairport Harding schools, always showing dedication and a strong work ethic.

Above all else, Agnes loved her family. She is survived by her sons Edward (Lynn), David (Marianne), and Denny Reho; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and her brother, Heikki Kallio.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stephen Reho; her parents, Emil and Alia Kallio; and her brother, Kauno Kallio.

Agnes will be remembered for her warmth, her quiet strength, her hardworking nature, and the love she so freely gave. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she passed down, the stories she shared, and the family she cherished so deeply. Sisu!

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Agnes’s life on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Spear Mulqueey Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville. A short ceremony will follow. Agnes will be laid to rest at the Riverside Cemetery. Friends and family can meet at the Fairport Slovenian Club following the ceremony and burial.
