Albert Rhone Obituary

Albert Lee Rhone, age 98, of Painesville Township, Lake County, Ohio, passed away September 15, 2020, at LakeMed Care in Painesville. He was a kindly treated resident at LakeMed since March of 2019.  Albert was born January 25, 1922, at Southampton Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania.  He was the third of eleven children of Harry Albert Rhone and Anna May Perry Rhone.

Albert Rhone was inducted into the army in November 1942 for service during World War II.  He served in the Pacific Theater from 1943 to 1945 with the 227th Station Hospital in New Guinea, Leyte, Luzon, and Korea as a truck driver.  He was discharged as a Private First Class.

Albert was a retired Teamster.  He moved to northeast Ohio in 1948. He married Angeline Square on September 15, 1951, and moved to Painesville Township.  Angie passed away in 2002, months after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. His greatest joy was the birth of his granddaughter in 1998. They had a very special relationship.

Albert is survived by his sons, Albert Rhone, Jr. and Vincent Rhone; and by his best friend, his granddaughter, Ally Rhone.  He is also survived by siblings Danna Rhone, Junior Rhone, and Donald Rhone, all of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Angie, his parents, and siblings: Dortha, Dorothy, Hazel, Helen, Robert, Margaret, and Esther. 

Big Al, Uncle Al, Dad, Grandpa Al lived a long good life – surrounded by Italians with big hearts.
