Alyssa Christine Grooms

Alyssa Christine Grooms, age 21, of Painesville, OH passed away suddenly September 16, 2022. She was born December 17, 2000, in Dayton, Oh to David M. Grooms and Dreama Hassell. She was preceded in death by her mother.

She was in training at JATC Electrician Training Center in Cleveland Ohio; a three-year electrical apprentice.

Alyssa’s greatest joy, purpose, and love in life was her little girl, Ruby Rose. She so loved being Ruby’s Mama.  She worked hard to set goals for herself that would ensure that Ruby would have the best life possible; she not only set those goals, but she achieved and continued achieving them.  To watch Alyssa with her little girl was to experience the happiness and love shared between them like no other.

To know our Alyssa was to know Love.

A celebration of her life service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, at Newcomer Funeral Home North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424.  Visitation is from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.  The service will immediately follow at 6:00pm

Alyssa is survived by her father, David Grooms; daughter, Ruby Rose Alaqua; sister, Starla Shepherd (Nick), niece, Serenity and nephews, Dakota and Ronnie Shepherd.  Loving Grandparents, Vicki Rogers and Steve Gomez; Paternal Grandfather, Don Grooms, Maternal Grandparents, Gina Griffin and Terry Hassell.  Uncles, Bryan Grooms whom she shared a special loving bond, Brett Wheeler (Mary Kate), Justin Grooms; Aunt, Destiny Grooms; many family members and friends, Justin Barnes and Cory Alaqua who have been a loving part of Alyssa’s life journey.
