Amelia Toreki, born on October 13, 1943 to George and Sadie Ameen passed away just shy of her 81st birthday at Seidman’s Cancer Center on October 2 2024.
Amelia retired from a long career as a customer service representative at Fasson Avery Dennison.
She graduated from Harvey High School where she was active in the band and a was majorette.
Amelia loved being active throughout her life. She enjoyed Jazzercize and participated in many programs at the Perry Senior Center. Working in the yard, feeding the birds, and keeping her windows immaculately clean were some of her other pastimes.
Although she didn’t love cooking, out of an act of love she cooked many favorite foods and holiday meals for her family because she loved spending time with them every chance she had.
She is survived by her two children, Michael “Tony” Toreki and Deidra (Jon) Guynn; grandchildren, Ashley Valdez, Laura Toreki (William Powell), and Mateo Guynn; great grandchildren Damian, Alex, and Isaac Valdez, William Fulaytar, Sophia and William Powell; brothers George and John (Jane) Ameen and sister, Jean(Walt)Eby. And numerous adored nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Michael Toreki, sisters Sarah Crane, Martha Ameen and sister in law Cheryl Ameen
Friends and Family will be received on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024 from 12pm to 2pm. Funeral service October 9, 2024 at 2pm, Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home 667 Mentor Avenue Painesville, Ohio 44077.
