Anne Matilda Fedak, a life-long resident of Fairport Harbor passed away January 4, 2021 at Danbury of Mentor. She was born March 14, 1923 in Fairport to Joseph and Anna (Rindo) Gurley.
Anne was a graduate of Fairport Harding High School and a summa cum laude graduate of Lake Erie College. She was teacher at McKinley School for many years. Anne wore many hats in her lifetime from schoolteacher, chemist, secretary, crafts instructor, office manager, and Mom…just to name a few. She loved the written word reflected in her passion for books, newspapers, and crossword puzzles. Anne was a life-long student exploring everything from making strudel to understanding bitcoin currency. She loved a great adventure and ended up visiting many parts of the globe, with her daughter Gail.
Anne is survived by her son, John Fedak; daughter, Dr. Gail Fedak (Carey Knight); sister, Elizabeth Gurley Winchell; and many nieces and nephews who fondly called her “Auntie Til”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Fedak, in April of 2002; brothers, Dr. Joseph Gurley and Dr. Julius Gurley; sister, Margaret Gurley Tomasik and her parents.
Private Services will be held. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
