Arnold Lavon Padgett was born in Somerville, Georgia on July 29, 1945, to Tom and Jeanette Padgett. He passed from this life unexpectedly on November 29, 2022. He is survived by one son, Doug (Gina) Martin of Perry, Ohio; three (3) grandchildren—Christina (Dustin) Shaw of Perry; Nicole (Nick) Freund of Perry; DJ (Stacey) Martin of Willowick; eight (8) greatgrandchildren—Kenney, Kyleigh, Gavin, Landyn, Jamison, Lily, Harper, Brooklyn; two (2) sisters in law, Betty Land Stinson and Selma Parsons of Mentor and one brother in law, Herman (Sue) Land of Willoughby and two (2) nieces, Rhonda Morris of North Carolina and Janice Knight of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Jeanette Padgett, his wife Wanda Mae Padgett, and a brother, William “Daddy Bill” Varnell.
Arnold was a veteran of the US Army where he honorably served from 1962-65 and was honored for his expert marksmanship. He retired in 2017 from Ritrama Duramark in Cleveland after more than 30 years of faithful and continuous service. He was a lifetime member of the Lake County Rod and Gun Club in Madison. His hobbies were his wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren, working the flea market, shooting, hunting, fishing and gardening.
Friends will be received 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Lake Erie Church of God, 2300 Hubbard Road Madison, Ohio. Funeral Services will follow at 6:00 PM. Graveside services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, December 5, 2022 at Perry Cemetery, 3840 Middle Ridge Road, Perry, Ohio.
