Beth Louise (Mackey) Snowden

Beth Louise (Mackey) Snowden, age 75, passed away peacefully at her home in Perry on Saturday, June 10, 2023.  She was born June 17, 1947, in Painesville to Vernie and Iola (Pope) Mackey.

After graduating from the Willoughby School of Practical Nursing, Beth was an LPN for Lake County Memorial Hospital before moving with her husband to San Clemente, California while he was serving in the Marine Corps.  When her children were older, she worked as a customer service representative at Tops Market in Mentor for many years.

Beth enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Guardians and the Cleveland Cavaliers.  She also enjoyed visiting Lake Erie and hunting for beach glass, the Zoo (especially the tigers), the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains, and Florida.

Beth is survived by her husband of 55 years, Patrick A. Snowden; daughter, Maureen Bierer of Thompson; son, James Snowden of Painesville Twp.; daughter, Diana (Richard) Virant of Painesville Twp.; and grandchildren, Brenna (Desmond) Bradford, Colton Virant and Kelsie Virant.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara Moore; and brothers, Vernie Mackey and Alan Mackey.

Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15 at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue in Painesville.  Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 16 at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Perry Cemetery in Perry.
