Betty Marie (McAdams) Mlckovsky

Betty Marie Mlckovsky, age 95, passed away on January 1, 2024 at Tri-Point Medical Center in Concord Township.  She was born on July 5, 1928, in Beaver, Oklahoma and moved to Spreckles, California in 1941.  There she met the love of her life, private first class, James Mlckovsky who was stationed at Fort Ord, California during WW II.  They were married in 1946 and moved to Concord Township, Ohio.

Betty first worked in customer service for Wayside Gardens in Mentor and then spent 20 years as a cosmetics buyer for the Carlisle Allen Department Stores.  She also worked for Horn’s Department Store at the Great Lakes Mall.  She was a member of the Concord Garden Club and served 6 years as treasurer.

Betty enjoyed her family, friends, her garden, and the family pets.   She is survived by her daughters, Deborah McCormick and Jonell (Richard) Vertocnik, granddaughters, Kathleen Caruso, Amy (Stephan) Young, and great grandson, Benjamin King.  She was preceded in death by parents, Raymond C. and Daisy (Dunn) McAdams; her husband of 64 years, James, and brothers, Everett, Ernest and Lynn McAdams.

Friends will be received 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Funeral Services will immediately follow at 12:00 PM.  Burial will be at Concord Cemetery.
