Betty M. (Marie) Richards

Betty M. Richards, age 93, passed away January 15, 2024, at Homestead II Nursing Home in Painesville.  She was born January 2, 1931, in Cleveland to Edward Andrew Marie and Elfreida (Krause) Marie.

Betty was a homemaker who raised 5 children with her husband, George.  She enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking, and doll making.  She liked catching up and chatting on the phone with her friends and family.  She loved watching and feeding her birds, and spending time with her children and many grandchildren.  Betty (Bo) loved having a house full of friends and family.  And she made sure no one ever left her house feeling hungry!

Betty is survived by her sons, Mike Richards and Jeff Richards; her  daughters, Susan Kirby and Lynda (Greg) Mitan; her grandchildren, Alan (Marcie) Christian, Kelley (Marion) Smith, Jennifer Brooks, Rachel Brooks, Nikki (Josh) Phillips, Vickie (Lou) Janson, Angelique Richards, Jeffrey Richards, Nicholas Richards, Michael Richards Jr., Steven (Racheal) Richards; her great grandchildren, Chad (Megan) Christian,  Chasidi Christian, Benjamin Weiss, Alex Weiss,  Erich Weiss, Daniel Bixler, Hailey Bixler, Mitchel Brooks, Miranda Rocha, Madeline Rocha, Marlayna Rocha, Meredith Rocha, Maverick, Tommy Janson, Johnny Janson, Johnathan, Axton Richards, Scarlett Richards; and  5 great-great grandchildren; and her sister,  Nancy Simmons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Tom Marie and Jean Meredith; her husband of 63 years, George Richards and her daughter, Kathy (John) Brooks.

Family and friends will be received 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Funeral Services will immediately follow at 12:00 PM.  Burial will be at Williams Cemetery in Leroy Township.
