Cynthia L. (Gibbs) McBride

"TOGETHER AGAIN"

Cynthia L. McBride, age 88, passed away January 12, 2026, at The Enclave of Newell Creek in Mentor, Ohio.  She was born December 2, 1937, in Cleveland to Guy Gibbs and Hazel (Marquardt) Gibbs.

Cynthia was the owner/operator of Gibbs Electric in Painesville, with her husband Richard, for many years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed antiquing and going to flea markets.  She also enjoyed working with crafts, knitting, watching Disney movies, and especially playing bingo.

Cynthia is survived by her daughter, Carrie (Ray) Willoughby son, Donald (Kristy) McBride; grandchildren, Laurel Skaggs, Zachery McBride, Molly McBride; three great grandchildren, Emma, Reese, and TJ Skaggs

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard McBride in 2012; son, Douglas McBride, brother, Robert Gibbs; sisters, Jean Manninen, Phyllis Verbic and her parents.

A special thank you to the staff at the Enclave, especially Thomas, Bonnie and Blade, as well as Miracle City Hospice. 

Friends will be received 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 16th at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.
