David F. Ostrander Sr.

David F. Ostrander Sr., age 69, passed away October 2, 2023, at his residence in Mentor, Ohio.  He was born December 9, 1953, in Boardman, Ohio to David E. and Patricia Ann (Giering) Ostrander. 

David was a maintenance mechanic and worked for Morton Salt Mines for many years.  He enjoyed classic cars and going to car shows. David was particularly proud his Ford Mustang.  He loved spending time at home with his family.

David is survived by his children, David Ostrander Jr., (wife, Tiffany M. (Herold) Ostrander) and Tonya Rafalke; brother, James Ostrander; sister, Gail Ostrander; grandchildren, Thomas Rafalke, Zachary Rafalke, Tatianna Rafalke, David F. Ostrander III; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma “Cindy” Ostrander in 2016; sister, Rose Kankula and his parents.

Friends will be received 5:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Graveside Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, October 6th at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, Ohio.
