Deanna “Dee” M. Keever, age 85, passed away March 2, 2024, in Winter Haven, Florida. She was born March 7, 1938, in Painesville to Michael and Thelma Wirenius.
Deanna is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Keever; brother, David Wirenius (Mary); children, Tim, Terri (Bernie), Michael (Robin), Jeff, and William Jr.; grandchildren, Tina, Lauren, TJ, Michael (Madie), and Rachel, and great-granddaughter Raela Jo.
After graduating Harvey High School in 1956, Deanna began her professional career in Human Resources with the Diamond Shamrock company then retired from Eltech Systems in 1994. First diagnosed with breast cancer in 1978, Dee won several battles with the disease during her lifetime, calling on her fierce spirit and determination.
Upon Dee and Bill’s retirement, they set their sights on becoming snowbirds, spending half their years in Florida and the other half in Ohio.
Ever the social butterfly, Dee was incredibly active in her community as a Red Hatter, sociable, coffee-talker, walker, consummate baker, pool walker/talker, hostess, and garage sale expert. Dee especially loved the Florida sand cranes, enjoyed golfing with Bill and their many friends, hosting parties, and spending time with her grandkids. Dee participated in two Breast Cancer 3-Days, organized many St. Patrick’s Day parties, and community garage sales.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Family and friends are invited from 4:00PM – 6:00PM, Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. Memorial service immediately following at 6:00PM. Graveside Services will be held at Concord Cemetery, 11691 Concord Hambden Road, Painesville, OH on May 31, 2024, at 10:30AM.
