Deborah W. "Debbie" Lanese

Deborah W. “Debbie” Lanese, age 66, passed away after a short illness on July 5, 2023, at University Hospitals in Cleveland.  She was born August 16, 1956, in Monaca, Pennsylvania to Ancil Weekley and Joan Herbison Sherman.

Debbie worked in retail management and for the News-Herald for many years.  She also worked for Flowers on Main in Painesville. 

The most important thing to Debbie was spending time with her family and friends, and she especially cherished her role as an aunt.  She loved doing crafts with her nieces and nephews, who will look back on these moments as treasured memories.

Debbie is survived by her mother, Joan Sherman; father, Ancil (Mary Lou) Weekley; siblings, Karen (Thomas) Blatnik, Bonnie Chiancone, Kelley Weekley, David Weekley, Claudine Sherman Steinfurth, Lloyd “Les” (Janet) Sherman, Suzanne Sherman (Ron) Carlton, Eleanor Sherman (Lance) Molter, and F. Jacque (Anne) Sherman; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 9:00 – 10:00 AM, Monday, July 31, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 242 North State Street, Painesville, Ohio.  A Memorial Mass will immediately follow at 10:00 AM.  Inurnment will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Mary Catholic Church in Painesville.
