Dennis A. Novak

Dennis Novak, age 67, passed away June 24, 2023, at Tri Point Medical Center in Concord Township.  He was born August 1, 1955, in Painesville to Andrew Novak Sr. and Margaret (Sabo) Novak.  He was a 35-year resident of Leroy Township.

Dennis served in the United States Navy from 1973 – 1976.  He worked for the U. S. Postal Service for over 30 years, and he was also a part-time firefighter and paramedic for the Painesville Township Fire Department for 10 years.  He was currently employed by Lake Metro Parks.

Dennis was a musician and enjoyed playing string instruments.   He also loved riding his Harley, kayaking, biking, and spending time outdoors. His family and his faith were most important to him.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Paula D. (Yoder) Novak, whom he married in 1977; son, Jason Novak; daughter-in-law, Nicole Novak; and daughter, Jessica (Scotti) Williams; four grandchildren, Valicity, Benjamin, Madeline, and Paisley; brothers, Andrew Novak Jr. and Joseph (Patricia) Novak.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elmer Novak; and sisters, Margaret Hendricks and Barbara Ritzannio.

Friends will be received from 5:00pm to 7:00pm July 5, 2023 at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am, Thursday, July 6, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 242 North State Street, Painesville, followed by a celebration of life at 12:30 pm at Painesville Township Park Hall, Hardy Road, Painesville, Ohio.  A private family burial will take place at a later date.
