Donald L Ames

Donald L. Ames II, age 65, of Fairport Harbor, passed away January 14, 2024, surrounded by his family at Cleveland Clinic Hospital.  He was born July 12, 1958, in Painesville to Donald Ames and Betty Lou Bukky (Palmer).

He graduated in 1976 from Harvey High school and went on to complete his apprenticeship with Iron Workers Local 17 where he was a proud member for 42 years.  He enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, biking and spending time with his family especially his granddaughter Audrey.

Donald is survived by his wife, Barbara (Samynek) Ames; son, Zac (Breanna) Ames; daughter, Cortney (Tony) Zalar; granddaughter, Audrey Zalar; sisters, Tammy Silvis, Kim Amiott, Debbie (Norm) Atkinson and Sandy Ames.

He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Betty and step father, Clyde Bukky.

A Celebration of Life for Donald will be held by the family at a later date.
