Donald H. Cipollo

Donald H. Cipollo, age 80, passed away August 30, 2024, at Danbury of Mentor.  He was born October 20, 1943, in Cleveland to Henry Cipollo and Adele (Yanusaitis) Cipollo. 

Donald is survived by his wife of 57 years, Toni (Bufalino) Cipollo; children Dawn Hovancsek (Jim) and Todd Cipollo (Courtney); grandchildren Cole Cwiklinski, Nick Cwiklinski, Cassidy Cipollo, Paige Cipollo, and Taylor Cipollo, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Judith Koprivec.

Donald was a loving, devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He exemplified the values of hard work, generosity, and kindness. His sense of humor and quick wit will not soon be forgotten by those who knew him.

Donald enjoyed three distinct careers. He was an English teacher in the Euclid Public Schools for sixteen years, where he also coached football, basketball, and baseball. He left teaching to work in the electrical power system management industry.  Finally, he worked for the Ohio Lottery Commission serving as a Deputy Director.

Donald loved spending time with his family and friends. He had a passion for sports and enjoyed playing golf and softball, as well as coaching his children in their sporting endeavors. He loved being outside, working in his yard, and cleaning his cars.

Friends will be received on September 15. 2024 at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, with a short service following at 4:00.
