Dorothy Betty (Jones) Kallio

Dorothy Betty Kallio, age 79, of Concord Township passed away on May 15th, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.  Dorothy was born in Cleveland, Ohio.   She ended up calling the Painesville/Concord area her home for most of her life where she graduated from Harvey High School in 1960.  Dorothy then went on to work for Lake County National Bank for 15 years before taking a leave to raise her family. Dorothy finished her career at Painesville Township School District where she retired.

Dorothy loved spending time with her beloved family and her grandchildren. She loved the nights she could snuggle with her grandchildren and watch a movie.  She also loved to take road trips with her husband.  During their travels Dorothy and Heikki were able to explore 49 of the 50 states.  They also loved to cruise around Lake County and explore in her Mazda Miata called “Princess”. During her younger years Dorothy loved to take care of her horse and ride through the trails of Lake County. 

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Heikki Kallio; daughters, Kim (Chris) Sarosy and Linda (Mike) Schofield; sister, Carole (Joe) Smole; brother, Dick (Jan) Jones; granddaughters, Hannah Sarosy and Lauren Sarosy.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Lawrence and Bernice Jones.

Friends will be received 4:00 -7:00 PM on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.  Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, May 20th at the funeral home.
