Gloria J. (Chapman) Fuerst

Gloria J. (nee: Chapman) Fuerst, age 86, of Perry, Ohio, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 19, 2024. She was born July 29, 1937, in Painesville, Ohio.

Devoted wife, loving mother of 4 children, grandmother of 8 grandchildren and great-grandmother of two.

She was a member of Concord Alliance Church and served faithfully in the Gideons ministry. She enjoyed reading and studying her Bible, attending missionary week at Beulah Beach each year. She enjoyed listening to Bible teachers on the radio and tv, playing games with others including her children and grandchildren which produced great joy and laughter that everyone cherished.

She is survived by her brother Don Flynn and sister Wanda Gear, her children Melody (Larry) Leasko of Perry, OH, Patti (Brock) Davidson of Knoxville, TN, Michael (Kim) Fuerst of Talbott, TN, and Debbie (Chad) Ely of Madison, OH; grandchildren include Rachel (Jonathan) Garner, Rebecca (Josiah) Roberts, Renee Davidson, Reid Davidson, Robyn Davidson, Sarah (John) Bell, Annice Ely and Emma Ely.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther (Cantner) Chapman, father, Clyde Milton Chapman, and stepmother, Maybelle Chapman; devoted husband, James Fuerst; brother, Jack Chapman and sister, Irene Wilmot Wheeler.

Friends and family will be received 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12:00 Noon.  Burial will be at Perry Cemetery.
