Grace E. Shupp, age 96, passed away September 18, 2025, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina, Ohio. She was born February 1, 1929, in Painesville to Steve J. Reho Jr. and Grace (Nagy) Reho who immigrated to the U. S. from Hungary in 1899 and 1916.
Grace attended Huntington Elementary School, Champion Junior High and graduated from Harvey High School in 1946. She was a member of the Champion Cheerleaders for 3 years. She married her high school sweetheart, Dean, September 30,1950 and they were married for over 45 years.
Mrs. Shupp attended Lakeland Community College and received her degree in secretarial administration. She was employed by the Lake and Park Theaters, and Sears Roebuck & Co. She retired from the Lubrizol Corp. after 34 years as a secretary and OSHA Specialist.
Mrs. Shupp loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She always gave praise and glory to His name for all her many blessings. She was a life-time member of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Fairport Harbor, where she taught Sunday school and was a very active member of the Women’s Fellowship Group for over 32 years. She was the church treasurer for over 35 years, and a member of the adult choir for over 10 years.
She loved music, especially old church hymns, polka music, gospel music, and the big band music of the 40’s. She was a soloist at many weddings and also sang with a local polka band.
Mrs. Shupp is survived by her sister, Dorothy (John) Chapman; nephews, Robert L. (Beth) Reho Jr., Fred (Carol) Reho, Robert W. (Deb) Reho and Patrick (Barbara) Chapman; nieces, Kelly (T.J.) Sarlina, Betsy (Michael) Schubert and Julie (Tim) Leonard; sisters-in-law, Deanna (Bill) Venditti and Rose Shupp and Karen Caldwell; loving companion, J. Edward Bihary; Steven Bihary and his family; six great nieces and nephews and 4 great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dean Shupp in 1995; her parents; brother and sister-in law, Robert L, Reho Sr. and Joann Reho; brother and sister-in law, Steven N. Reho and Anita Reho, niece, Dana Marie Reho and nephew, Jeff Reho.
Friends and family will be received 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM officiated by Reverend William Nyerges. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
