Helen L. Land, age 85, was the daughter of Okey G. and Phoebe L. (Harmon) Hudkins, born on August 14, 1939, in Ronceverte, West Virginia. She passed away at her home on September 10, 2024.
Helen was an active member of the Lake Erie Church of God for many years. She served in various functions at her church, including the church clerk position, which she truly enjoyed.
Helen loved her family immensely and was a homemaker and caregiver to many. She was generous and kind and an encouragement to others. She loved to cook and was well known for her baking. Helen was excellent at canning and preserving as well. She was also an avid reader, loved puzzles and games, and enjoyed crafting, such as making wreaths and flower arrangements.
She is survived by her sons, Edgar B. Land, Steven G. (Cathy) Land, Matthew R. (Kimberly) Land; daughter, Karen S. (John) Musacchio; step-son, Clyde Chilcote; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Leon Hudkins, Larry Hudkins and stepbrother, Dudley (Patsy) O’Dell; sisters, Gloria Ann (Robert) Bennett, Margaret Joan (Paul) Kahler, stepsister, Bettie Hanson, half-sisters, Patty (Randall) Hartley and Tammy (Merle) Hartley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar, son, Christopher Land, brother, Landis Hudkins half-sister, Ruth (Floyd) Nichols and her parents.
Family and friends may call from 3:00-6:00 PM, Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the Lake Erie Church of God, 2300 Hubbard Road, Madison, Ohio 44057. Funeral services will be Monday at 12:00 PM at the Lake Erie Church of God. Family and friends may gather from 11:00 AM -12:00 PM Monday at the church. Burial will be at Perry Cemetery.
