Henry J. Zalar Jr.

Henry J. Zalar, age 68, of Painesville, Ohio, passed away,  August 28, 2021, at Tri-Point Medical Center in Concord Township.  He was born in Painesville, October 16, 1952, to Henry J. and Audrey Anne (Zatorsky) Zalar.

He was a graduate of Fairport Harding High School, “Class of 1970”.  Henry worked at Eltech Corp., the Perry Power Plant, and Progressive Insurance.  He enjoyed following all the Cleveland sports teams, watching any and all sports, coaching youth sports, and gardening.

Family and friends will be received 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Mulqueeny-Spear Funeral Home, 312 Eagle Street, Fairport Harbor, Ohio.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, September 3, 2021, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 511 Plum Street, Fairport Harbor, Ohio.  Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.

Henry is survived by his sons, Justin (Mary) Zalar of Eastlake, Tony (Cortney) Zalar of Painesville Township; brother, Robert Zalar (Diane Dymeck); sisters, Christine Zalar, Joan Zalar (Ron Paramore), and Susan Zalar; grandchildren, Abigail and Colton Zalar; nieces Anne Passafiume, Julie Zalar; nephews, Alex (Christa) Passafiume, Sam Zalar; and former wife and friend, Darlene (Cardina) Zalar.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
