Homer M. Varner

Homer M. Varner, Sr. age 88, passed away April 25, 2025, in Willoughby Ohio.  He was born February 22, 1937, in Cass, West Virginia to Frank Varner and Mary (Sheets) Varner.

Homer was a firefighter for Painesville Township for many years, retiring in 1997.  He enjoyed baseball, golf, and watching westerns.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Homer is survived by his son, Homer Varner Jr. of Painesville Township; sister, Eva Neighbors of Baltimore, MD.; grandchild, Sheena Varner Siembida; great grandson, Joseph Matson, and great granddaughter, Alyssa Siembida

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Miller) Varner in 2022, his brother, Edward Lee (Ted) Varner and his parents.

Friends will be received 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Friday, May 2, 2025, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.  Funeral Services will be held at10:00 AM, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
