Howard Robert Cowling was born June 6, 1954, in Euclid, Ohio to Howard J. & June M. (Stockwell) Cowling. He passed away September 9, 2024, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, after a 10 month battle with laryngeal cancer.
Howard grew up in Mentor, Ohio and graduated from Mentor High School in 1973. He worked as a welder & machinist for Component Repair Technologies on Tyler Blvd in Mentor for 38 years before retiring in May 2024.
Howard married Kathryn Johnson on May 20, 1995.
He enjoyed fishing and working on his truck. Howard was a Life Member of the Ohio Rifle & Pistol Association since 1989, and a Life Member of NRA since 1990. His favorite band was Journey. He was very proud of his sons & their families.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years Kathryn (Johnson), sons, David (Tanya), Brian (Megan), Christopher (Kristina), and Ian; grandchildren, Logan, Kaylee, Aidan & Gabriel.
He was preceded in death by his parents Howard J. & June M. (Stockwell) Cowling.
Calling hours will be 4:00-6:00 PM. Friday, September 13, 2024, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. Funeral services will immediately follow at 6:00 PM.
Private family services will be at Concord Cemetery at a later date.
