Ina Mae (Sevits) McKenzie

Ina Mae McKenzie, age 98, passed away January 19, 2025, in Painesville, Ohio.  She was born June 30,1926, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Earl M. Sevits and Twila Mae (Burkett) Sevits.

Ina was a homemaker.   She enjoyed spending time with her family.  She loved learning about and sharing the ancestry of her family.  Ina was a collector of antiques as well as rubber bands, paper clips and plastic bags.  After her husband retired, they enjoyed bus tours where they met and made multiple friends.  They traveled to many different places.  Ina was an avid quilter and made many beautiful homemade quilts for her family.

Proud grandmother to Lynnsey McKenzie (Matt Terrell) of Painesville and B. J. (Shawna) McKenzie of Perry.  Beloved great grandmother to MaKayla (Mikey) Pizzi, Donovan McKenzie, Charlotte and Alex McKenzie.  Mother-in-law to JoAnn McKenzie.  Brother0-in-law, Richard (Georgine) McKenzie, sisters-in-law, Judith Van Horn and Linda (Sam) Fouchtman.   She is also Aunt Ina to many nieces and nephews.  Special niece, Judy (Fred) Armstrong, honorary niece, Judy (Dick) Naylor and best poker buddy, Zack Sitz.  Friend to all her Cottage housemates.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert McKenzie Jr. in 1986 and her loving husband, Robert McKenzie Sr. in 2003.  She was also preceded in death by her four brothers and sisters, many brothers and sisters-in law, as well as her parents.

Friends will be received, 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 PM.  Burial will be at Berlin Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
