Inez B. Stockdale, age 95, passed away September 3, 2024, at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland. She was born July 29, 1929, in New Freeport, Pennsylvania to Clarence “Pete” Taylor and Doris (Pethel) Taylor.
Inez worked for the Ohio Rubber Company for many years, and also spent time helping the family business as a hostess for Red & Tom’s.
She enjoyed playing cards and bingo; hundreds of people in Lake County were financial victims of her impossibly good luck. She loved anything she could watch on a baseball diamond, from Indians/Guardians games to her grandchildren in Little League and softball. She also loved riding a four-wheeler and did so at 93.
And lordy, did she love the color red.
She lived a full life – one in which she was the life of every party – and will be dearly missed by all.
Inez is survived by her son, Gary (Cynthia) Stockdale; daughter, Carol “Susi” Woodley (Thomas); grandchildren, Greg Stockdale, Kyle (Ingrid) Woodley, Holly (Gabe) Valentino, Ashley (Ty) Stockdale, Stacy (Steve) Erdman, Noelle (Andrew) Silvaroli; and great-grandchildren, Lily, Nolan, Talan, Xander, Jackson, Levi, Bella and Amelia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Stockdale, in 2010; son, Walter Stockdale; daughter, Anita Stockdale; brothers, Milton Taylor, Eugene Taylor and Robert “Bob” Taylor; sister, Katherine Wilson; and her parents.
Friends will be received between 2 and 5 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Spear Mulqueeeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, 11521 Chillicothe Road, Chesterland, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, her family has requested donations to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
