James E. Roberts

James E. Roberts, age 57, passed away July 5, 2023, at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland.  He was born December 27, 1965, in Lorain, Ohio to John A. and Dessie (Childers) Roberts.

James was a machinist and worked for the Swagelok Company, retiring after 27 years. 

He enjoyed travel, music, and Cleveland sports teams.

James is survived by his wife, Paula (Kovach) Roberts; sons, Michael Schmittel and Joseph Schmittel; daughter, Katie Schmittel; sisters, Gail Deskins and Barbara Leavell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Johnny Roberts and Dexter Canada; sister, Kathy Roberts.

Friends will be received, 2:00 – 5:00 PM on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.  Funeral Services will immediately follow at 5:00 PM.
