James R. Sloban, age 77, passed away June 2, 2025, at the Ohio Veteran’s Home in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born November 7, 1947, in Painesville to Robert T. Sloban and Geraldine C. (Haas) Sloban.
James served in the United State Marines from 1967 until 1972 during the Vietnam War. He was a chemist and worked for Precious Metal Plating.
James was also a lifetime member of the Am Vets. James loved the Browns and Indians and was a season ticket holder for many years. He was proud of his service as a Marine and supported whenever possible.
James is survived by his wife, Diane Guess-Sloban; daughters, Heather Clark (Rick), Julie Warmuth, Janet Warmuth, Rachel Gascon, Rebecca Bowers and Jessica Guess (Tara); sons, Bob Sloban (Natalie), Timothy Judkins (Amanda); brothers, Rick Sloban (Donna), Timothy Sloban (Kelly); sisters, Patty Sloban Moskal (Walt); Kathy Holser Finotti (Dennis) and Susan Finotti; four granddaughters and two grandsons; two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Marylin Sloban, his brother, Chuck Sloban (Melissa), and his sisters, Mary Sloban Barker and Sally Sloban.
Friends will be received 5:00 -7:00 PM, Monday, June 9, 2025, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. Funeral Services and Military Honors will immediately follow.
Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery
