Jo Ann (Palsse) Lefelhoc

Jo Ann Lefelhoc, age 86, passed away October 24, 2023, at her residence in Perry, Ohio.  She was born September 18, 1937, in Painesville to Erro “Mose” and Estelle (Swanio) Palsse.

Jo Ann was a graduate of Harvey High School and had enjoyed playing softball, running track, playing basketball, and bowling.  After high school she worked for the Lake County Clerk of Courts Office, Rayon Corp., and retired from Neff Perkins.  She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Painesville where for a time worked as church secretary.  She loved playing pinochle and scrabble with her neighborhood friends Shirley Tantre and Joan Brcak.  She often played mahjong, solitaire and rummy, read the daily newspaper and worked the crossword puzzles.  She was an avid reader of novels and murder mysteries.  Most of all, Jo Ann loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Lefelhoc Sr.; son, Steven M. Lefelhoc; her parents; brother, Melvin Palsse; and sisters, Phyllis Chiappone, and Janet Oster.

Jo Ann is survived by her daughter, Debra Doerr (David); sons, Tracy Lefelhoc, Jeff (Ruth Burchett) Lefelhoc and Eugene Lefelhoc Jr.; grandchildren, Steve, Kristin, and Peyton; step-grandchildren Jeremy, Joshua, John, Steve, and Carrie; sister, Gerry Swingle and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio.   The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM.   Burial will be at Perry Cemetery.
