Joan (Joanne) Louise Kessler (nee Jones) of Fairport Harbor, passed peacefully on March 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Haven Home in Mentor, Ohio. Joanne, age 90, was born on October 13, 1933.
She is survived by her daughters, Debra (Hugh) Larick and JoDee (Toby) Dunlap; son, Robert (Cathy) Kessler; sister, Clara Glass; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Joanne was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart and beloved husband of 61 years, Robert (Bob) Kessler; parents, Nova and George Jones; and siblings, Harry Jones, Doris Rymer, Betty Wyant, Carol Zmecek, and Genevieve Wirtzburger.
Joanne graduated from Thomas W. Harvey High School in 1951.
Joanne treasured the time going out on the town and dancing with her husband, Bob. She valued the moments spent with her mother, Nova, and siblings at large family gatherings and picnics. Joanne’s love was given equally to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In her free time, she enjoyed reading, listening to music, sewing and especially cooking. She was noted for her green beans and ham, cabbage rolls, biscuits and gravy and her famous holiday nut roll.
Joanne will be dearly missed. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved. She is back in Bob’s embrace for all eternity.
