John A. Avena Jr.

John A. Avena Jr., age 68, passed away July 13, 2024, in Fairport Harbor, Ohio.   He was born November 22, 1955, in Boston, Massachusetts to his parents, John and Marie (Heffron) Avena.

John was a cement mason for Local Union 16.  He was also a champion weightlifter. 

John is survived by his son, John (Nicole) Avena III; daughter, Jessica (Adam) Lawson; sister, Linda Freeman; grandchildren, Kacie Lawson, Kristin Lawson, Kimberly Lawson, Joseph Avena, and Caitlyn Avena; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Ella, and Adeline.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Private graveside services will be held.
