John F. Penca, age 96, of Euclid passed away August 2, 2023, at David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland. He was born in Cleveland to Frank and Karolina (Koprinvnik) Penca.
He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran and he worked for New York Central, Penn Central and Conrail as a locomotive engineer. John enjoyed going polka dancing with his wife, Mary, and he especially loved spending time with all his family.
John leaves behind his children, grandchildren as well as his great grandchildren, and many wonderful memories.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Penca (Uranker) and his daughter, Sandra Kelly.
Father of John (Patricia) Penca Jr. of Painesville, Gary and Janet Penca of Coral Springs, Florida; grandfather of John (Ruthanne) Penca III, Haley (Will) Mortensen, James (Katie) Penca, Corey (Sarah) Penca, Jamie Penca, Cathy Fanshaw, Cindy (Alex) Hopkins, Brian Kelly, Kim (David) Santavicca, and Lindsey (Kevin) Downey; great grandpapa of Brandon, Madison, Mae, Liam, Josephine, Penelope, Isla, and Caleb.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Friday, August 11, 2023, at Ss. Robert & William Catholic Church, 367 East 260th Street, Euclid, Ohio. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at the Penca residence in Painesville on Saturday, August 12th, beginning at 1:00 PM.
