Jon J. Jacobson

Mass of Christian Burial for Jon Joel Jacobson, 82, of Painesville, will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 9, 2023 at St Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church, 316 5th St, Fairport Harbor, OH.  Family and friends will be received 4:00-6:00 PM, Friday, December 8th at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.

Survivors include wife, Joan (Lefelhocz) of 46 years.  Son, Jon Eric (Karen Castaldo), sister, Claire (Keith Barstow), brother, Nels Blaise (Donna), sister-in-law, Kathie, brother-in-law, Glenn and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Joel and mother, Mary Louise (Loxterman), brothers, Glen and Joel; sisters, Veda and Mary Leah (Auvil)

Jon enjoyed being with family and loved to fish and hunt.  He was quite the outdoorsman.  Jon graduated from Fairport Harbor high school class of 1959.  He graduated from The Ohio State University and was a Lieutenant in the US Navy. 

Jon worked as a purchasing agent for Eaton Corp, White Motors & Skidmore Gear.  He also worked as a meat cutter, and for Convenient Food Mart. 

Jon belonged to St. Mary’s Church in Painesville.  He was a member of the Fairport Harbor Rod & Reel Association and Fairport Senior Center.
