Joseph Ordell Stinson, Jr., son of Joseph and Betty Stinson was born on August 31, 1957, in Derry Township, PA and died on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. He was a career employee of the United States Post Office serving the Perry and Geneva community for more than thirty (38) years. He served honorably for more than 8 years in the US Coast Guard where he received the Coast Guard Medal, the highest peacetime honor, as a result of his heroism in saving the life of one of his fellow shipmates. He was a member of the North Perry Council. He was a champion Golden Gloves lightweight boxer. Joseph was, for a time, an employee at the Perry nuclear plant. He loved music, played guitar and was a member of the Broken Strings Band, a local Perry Ohio group. He was, in the words of his daughter, “the greatest fisherman and hunter I’ve ever known!” He was a true Pittsburgh Steelers fan although that was not considered endearing by all family members.
