Katherine L. Olsen

Katherine “Kathy” L. Olsen, age 85, passed peacefully surrounded by family on July 9, 2023, at her residence in Orwell, Ohio. She was born March 29, 1938, in Painesville to Jack Barton and Audrey (Rhinehardt-Bennet) Barton.

Katherine was a devout Christian who could often be found in prayer or worship. Kathy had many professions throughout her life. The community knew Kathy as their local Avon Lady, but she was most proud of the years she spent as a homemaker caring for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, crafts, and spending time with her loved ones. She cherished her time spent in Pennsylvania at her family cabin with her sister, nieces, and nephews.

Katherine is survived by her daughters, Sally (Merle) Murphy and Christine (Jacob) Tidd; son, Phillip (Shannon) Heath; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Pat “Butch” Olsen; daughters, Rebecca Calkins, and Dianna L. Bradbury; sister, Rocelia M. Pearl; and her parents.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 2:00 PM on August 20th, 2023, at 6000 OH-46 in Rome, Ohio 44085.
