Kathleen H. (Schwertner) Makcen

Kathleen H. Makcen, age 83, passed away September 16, 2022, at the Cleveland Clinic.   She was born March 27, 1939, in Cleveland to Clarence and Helen (Lutkus) Schwertner.

Kathleen was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Painesville.  She was a computer operator and worked for the Cleveland Clinic for many years.  She enjoyed dancing and had her own dance studio, where she taught Ballet, Tap, Jazz and various other styles. She loved to Polka at weddings. She also enjoyed listening to music and relaxing outside on her deck. But most of all, Kathy loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her little baby puppy, Ollie.

Kathy is survived by her children, Doug (Kathy) Makcen, Dave (Vicki) Makcen, Michael (Cynthia) Makcen, Pamela (Phil) Tsakiries, Melisa (Dean) Greenwalt, and Jacque (Shawn) Rose; sister, Karen Clark; grandchildren, Theoflos, Athena, Michael, George (Megan), Charles (Melanie), Casie, Taylor, Amberlynn (Jeremy Herron Jr.), David, and Hunter; great grandchildren, Chase, Haylee, Rose, Rylee, Henry, Olivia, Aiden, and Wyatt.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and her Husband of 54 years, George R. Makcen, whom she married on October 22, 1960.

Family and Friends will be received 4:00 – 7:00 PM, Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville.   Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 10:00 AM, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 242 North State Street, Painesville.  Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery. The memorial mass will be live streamed by St. Mary's church on their website www.stmarypvl.org click on the facebook link.
