Funeral Services for Kathleen Hopton Starkowicz, 73, of Wickliffe, will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, OH. Friends will be received from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, before services at the funeral home.
Kathleen was born February 15, 1946 in Carmichael, Pennsylvania to Earl and Dorothy (McNatt) Hopton. She passed away January 31, 2020 in Willoughby.
Kathleen was the widow of James Starkowicz. She was a homemaker and she was a member of AA since 1980. Most of her life was spent helping others in need. She enjoyed going to flea markets and loved dogs, who brought her so much joy, especially her cross-country travel friend, her dog Bob.
Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Dawn M. Spencer (Jack) Napier, and Richard A. (Sandy) Spencer III; grandchildren, Jaiden Spencer, Dakota Spencer, Mikayla Spencer (Rodrigo) Sanchez, Logan Spencer; great grandson, Xavier Sanchez; sister-in-law, Phil Hopton; nieces and nephews, Mark (Carrie), John (Diane), Matt (Mary), Kelly (Joe); Donna (who was her partner in crime), Cindy (Keith) and Debbie (Eddie); life-long family friends, Lee Schimborski, Patty Feiss, and Jacques Meeks.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Richard A. Spencer II and her second husband, James Starkowicz; she is now re-united with her granddaughter, Cheyenne Raine Spencer; brothers William Hopton, Charles Hopton; her parents, Earl and Dorothy Hopton; and her dog Budha.
