Lillian A. Kilrain passed away on Saturday, 12/19/2020 from complications of Covid-19. She was one week short of her 101st birthday. Lillian was the youngest daughter of Mary Margaret Brennan Kilrain and Edward William Kilrain and was born in Denora, PA. She attended St. Mary grade school and Harvey High School in Painesville. She was a certified Registered Nurse having completed the program at her Mother’s alma mater, St. Vincent Charity Hospital.
Lillian was an avid gardener and homemaker in addition to floor and private duty nursing at the former Lake County Memorial Hospital (East). Her gardens were impeccably managed for many years, as was her lawn. Lillian was a lifelong member of St. Mary Church in Painesville. She and her sister, Betty, often served lovingly as friend and advisor to many nieces and nephews.
Lillian’s family included four sisters and one brother, Marcelline (John) Hannon, Sister Kieran, CSJ (Hazel Kilrain), Mary Dolores (Kenneth) Kermode, Betty Kilrain and Ed (Helen) Kilrain. All are deceased. Her nieces and nephews included Alice Marie Hannon (dec), Betty Jane (Patrick, dec) McGreal, Mary Lou (Dan) Pelzer, Tom Hannon and Pete (Linda) Hannon, Mary Dolores (Greg) Nackley, Elizabeth (John) Spetz, Kenneth (Sally) Kermode, John (dec) (Candy) Kermode, and Tom Kermode, Ed Kilrain, and Patrick (Holly) Kilrain as well as many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Interment at St. Mary Cemetery, Painesville. Burial will be private. No other services will take place at this time due to Covid-19 but a Memorial Mass will be scheduled when safe. Contributions may be made to St. Mary Church, Painesville, OH or to a charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Homestead II for the loving care of Aunt Lil. They truly treated her as if she were their own relative.
