Margaret Mae Wetzel, age 101, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, in Willoughby, Ohio. Born on August 18, 1923, in Pasadena, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Edith Randall.
Margaret was a woman of warmth, kindness, and unwavering support for those she loved. She had a sharp wit and a hardworking spirit, always taking pride in her home and finding joy in decorating. Her love for animals, especially her cherished cats, was a testament to her compassionate nature. Her home was always a place for comfort, not just for family and friends, but for any stray that found its way to her doorstep.
Her kindness, humor, and devotion will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
Margaret’s legacy lives on through her loving family: her daughter, Lynne (Russ) Meraglio; her sons, David (Brenda) Fasula and Francis Fasula; her grandchildren, Brian, Jeff, Robbie, Ashley, Tom, Nicholas, Sam, Max, Scott, an Addison; as well as her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wetzel, Sr.; her former husband, Lin Fasula; her daughter, Patti Lambert; her grandsons, Ryan and Bryant; and her parents.
Margaret’s life will be honored with a Celebration of Life on Sunday, May 18, 2025, 1:30-4:30 PM at the Lake County Historical Society, 415 Riverside Drive, Painesville, Ohio 44077.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Lake Humane Society, 7564 Tyler Blvd. Unit E, Mentor, Ohio 44060, to honor her love for animals.
