Marjorie A. (Ulman) Hlebak

Marjorie A. Hlebak, age 88, passed away March 20, 2023, in Mentor after a long battle with cancer.  She was born August 27, 1934, in Cleveland to Joseph and Dolly (Tamas) Ulman.

Marjorie worked for the City of Eastlake from 1978 until her retirement in 2007. She was the Clerk of Eastlake City Council and the Accounting Clerk for the Finance Department. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fairport Harbor where she had been a trusted money counter.

She enjoyed reading, drinking coffee and showing off pictures of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved animals, especially Isaac the cat, and donated to many animal rights causes.

Marjorie is survived by her sons, Robert Hlebak of Painesville, Christopher (Marianne) Hlebak of Mooresville, NC., Michael Hlebak of Wilmington, OH.; daughters, Cynthia Hlebak of Eastlake, Deborah (Daniel) Petrich of Willoughby, Constance (Bob) Wood of Eagle River, AK., Linda Hlebak of Painesville, and Laura Hlebak of Eastlake; grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Bokal, Trisha (AL) Buchynsky, Dr. Samantha (Nicholas Biddell) Hlebak, Nicole (Kevin) Acken, Bradley Hlebak, Alexandria Hlebak and seven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends will be received 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. 

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 24, 2023, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Fairport Harbor.  PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.
