Mary (Bertone) Carlucci

Mary I. (Bertone) Carlucci was taken by the angels to heaven on May 4, 2021, after fighting a long and courageous battle.  She was surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Santa Maria Del Molise, Italy to Sam and Dorothy (Notte) Bertone.

Mary specialized in retail sales at J.C. Penney for ten years and retired.

She married John Carlucci in 1951 and recently celebrated her 70th wedding anniversary.   She was totally dedicated to her four girls in all aspects of their lives.  Her beautiful smile would light up a room. 

She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for her family, gardening, shopping, dancing to all music, but most of all her true love was her family.   She was a loving wife and the best mother and grandmother anyone could ask for.  She was a fearless and courageous woman and will be forever missed.  We loved her so much and know she will always be looking down on us. 

Mary is survived by her loving husband, John D. Carlucci; daughters, Mary Ann Vendi, Teresa (Ron) Hommel, JoAnn (Gary) Deans and Dorothy (Mark) Bayzath; sisters, Mafalda (Mike) Pizzi, Helen (Mike) Zappitelli, Antoinette (Robbie) Sheridan, and Yolanda (Dale) Sprague; grandchildren, Michelle (Mark) Ebeling, Jon Vendi, Ben Hommel, Jason (Shannon) Deans, Mike Deans, Nick (Kelsey) Bayzath, and Connor Bayzath; great grandchildren, Christopher, Alex, Max, Hollis, Nora, Allison, and Evan. She was also loved and cared for by her wonderful caregiver, Betsy Newman.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carmine Bertone and sister, Ida Giancola.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 7, 2021 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor, Ohio.   Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
