Mary Elizabeth (Nyilas) Jacobson

Mary Elizabeth Jacobson, age 86, was discharged to Heaven on February 18, 2021 from the Gardens of McGregor & Amasa Stone in East Cleveland while her family was at her side.  She suffered from the unfairness of dementia for many years.  She was born September 4, 1934 in Painesville.

Mary worked for APSCO as a manager in the human resource department for many years.  She enjoyed painting, sewing, working with crafts, and collecting angels.   She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Denise (Doc) Stoerkel, Pamela (Alvin) Wells, Kathie (Ted) Tate and Cynthia Jacobson; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren: Todd (Summer), Emma, River; Tammy (Felipe), Georgia, Sebastian; Andrew; Rebekah (Joe), Grady, Miles, Reese; Kimberly, Lanie, Landon, Sophia, Spencer; Melissa (Jeff), Taylor, Mason; Garrett (Crystal); Samantha. She is also survived by beloved nieces and nephews.

She was loved way up high to the sky where the angels are and all the way back.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Elizabeth Nyilas; brothers, Joseph III and Donald; and former husband, Hugo Jacobson.

With respect for the safety of others due to the Covid 19 pandemic, private family services will be held, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, OH.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Painesville.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at McGregor who not only cared for her but loved her as family during the past 7 years.
