Michael Yakli passed into God’s care on October 16, 2023.
Michael was born in Gyor Zamuly Hungary on May 19, 1931. He escaped from Hungary during the 1956 revolution and came to the United States. He married Helen Pizzi in 1961 and is the father of Michael and Joseph Yakli.
Michael worked Joe Dyson and Son for over 30 years. He threaded large industrial bolts including the ones used on the Alaskan Pipeline. Mike also worked at Light Alloys, Scott Machines and Merkel Nursery. He was a founding member of St. Gabriel Church and was a member of the Painesville Knights of Columbus Council 947.
Michael enjoyed bowling, gardening, and word puzzles. He was a fan of baseball and football as well as his native soccer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Istvan, mother, Marcella, brothers, Tivadar and Ernst and sisters, Maria and Olga.
Survivors are his wife, Helen, sons Michael and Joseph (wife, Sheila), as well as many nephews and nieces.
Funeral arrangements are with Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Avenue, Painesville, Ohio. Visitation is Tuesday, October 24th 2023, from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM. Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Painesville, with interment at St. Mary Cemetery.
